Staffordshire based speciality additive masterbatch manufacturer, Wells Plastics, are celebrating after a highly successful 25th year in business. The company has bucked the economic trend with their latest set of results which completes their third successive year where growth has exceeded 20%.
Wells Plastics supplies its additives to the film, sheet, fibre and moulding markets in the UK and exports its more innovative products globally.
Carl Birch, Wells Plastics Sales & Marketing Director, explains “we are very pleased with this latest set of results which seems to be rewarding our strategy for making highly technical market leading products. In particular the company has seen tremendous growth in its export sales largely as the result of increasing the number of distributors for our Reverte and Bactiglas brands”.
The company has matched its growth in sales with investment in people and equipment. Birch adds “in the last few years we have installed a new extrusion line in our factory and purchased extensive additional ancillaries. In our technical department we have doubled the size of our laboratory and associated equipment and increased the number of highly skilled personal we employ”.
Wells continues to work hard to gain new business and is optimistic about its similarly ambitious growth targets for the coming year.
