Wells Plastics Limited, based in Stone, Staffordshire will be again participating in the K show, which will be the fourth time since 1998. After strengthening of their sales and technical teams and increasing their distributors base Wells is even better suited to dealing with the international plastics industry.

At K 2007 Wells will be showcasing a number of new products with emphasis on oxo-biodegradable and antimicrobial developments within the Reverte and Bactiglas range of products.

In recent years Wells has seen a massive demand for their Bactiglas products in applications such as white goods, healthcare and medical. It is felt that this trend of commercialisation will continue with bespoke products from Wells being developed to meet a wide range of process, performance and regulatory requirements

Green issues continue to plague the plastics industry with pressures coming from all angles to produce more environmentally responsible products. Wells believes that oxo-biodegradable products offer a solution to some of the issues such as littering and landfill and help to improve the image of plastic packaging. Recent developments in the Reverte range of oxo-biodegradable materials offer outstanding performances with low impact on the cost of the finished product. Reverte formulations have been developed to be end application specific and provide the user with a clearly defined ‘dwell time’ in which the product is fit for use followed by a rapid degradation profile thereafter. Reverte is used in a wide range of packaging films, agricultural films and checkout bags. It has also been used in thicker section articles and a wide variety of polymer substrates.

In addition to proprietary business Wells has for many years offered a high quality contract manufacturing service and recent investments in new plant and machinery have opened up more opportunities and capacity. Wells invite potential clients at the K show to visit the stand and discuss possible collaborations and partnerships.

Other products which make up the Wells portfolio include antistatics, antiblocks, fragrances, volatile corrosion inhibitors, slips, process aids and many others.
